Gov. Kathy Hochul was in the Southern Tier today to help celebrate the grand opening of Binghamton University’s new Decker School of Nursing and Health Sciences building in Johnson City.

And, as part of the governor’s visit this morning, she received her Covid booster shot — from our very own Melissa Brennan, FNP!

Well, OK. Melissa did retire from serving as FamPlan’s director of patient services this past May, but not from her decades-long and tireless effort to protect and promote the health and wellness of our local communities.

Since retiring from her post here with us, Melissa, a Family Nurse Practitioner, has been working with the Broome County Health Department’s Covid-19 team, including administering vaccinations and now booster shots.

Thank you, Melissa, for all you did for our patients and staff during your time here with us at FamPlan. And thank you for all you continue to do to help keep our local community healthy, safe and well during this global pandemic.

Retirement or not: you will always be our very own, “Melissa B.”
