DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS 

Position responsible for marketing, media relation, public information and public affairs, to develop community awareness and support for reproductive issues and family planning services. This individual also drafts agency newsletter, annual report and press releases, as well as managing agency website and coordinating legislative contacts and advocacy efforts.

The Director of Public Communications reports to the CEO and works closely with the Board of Directors and Public Affairs Committee.

Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree a plus, experience in marketing and public relations with a good knowledge of reproductive health issues, legislative affairs, and knowledge of the American political scene. Must be committed to the mission and beliefs of the agency. Strong verbal and written communication skills. A high degree of computer and Internet literacy is needed. Must have a proven capability to work independently without detailed instructions and with minimal supervision, as well as the ability to work cooperatively with other program staff and agencies. Willingness to work flexible hours. Willingness to keep updated in the field and continue training. Must have a contact phone number. Valid NYS driver’s license and mode of transportation. HEALTH CENTER NURSE — ONEONTA

The Health Center Nurse is responsible for assisting the Clinicians in the delivery of health care and providing nursing care and counseling for medical center patients following established standards and practices. The Health Center Nurse has overall responsibility for the session at which she/he is working and provides continuing care for patients by participating in referrals and follow-ups.

Current license to practice as a licensed practical nurse in NYS. Experience in Ob-Gyn nursing desirable. A positive demeanor with the ability to be tactful, sensitive and empathetic to all patients and/or clients. Commitment to the mission of Family Planning. Must have a contact phone number and reliable transportation. Physically able to perform the essential functions of this job.
